Great for my son!

"My son tried on every PFD in the store. The large fits him extremely well, and it offers real ease of arm movement: perfect for paddling. It is considerably more heavy than the foam/nylon ones, but the fit is so much better. The price point is excellent: especially for a kid who seems to be growing an inch a month!"

"This is a good, comfortable PFD. It fits well, doest not ride to high in the neck or arms. The padding in the lower front is a little bulky but does not restrict movement. When you put it on you can feel that it is flexible but secure. When it comes to PFDs you have to bet your life on what you wear. I have no worries with this one. and it is a good price!"

What PFD classification is this vest; 1-5?

It's a Type III, according to the Rush Sports website.

TYPE III
Good for conscious users in calm, inland water, or where there is a good chance of quick rescue. It is designed so wearers can place themselves in a face-up position in the water. The wearer may have to tilt their head back to avoid turning face-down in the water. The Type III foam vest has the same minimum buoyancy as a Type II PFD. It is generally the most comfortable type for continuous wear. Float coats, fishing vests, and vests designed with features suitable for various sports activities are examples of this type PFD. This type inflatable turns as well as a Type II foam PFD.
