"I've been using this for a few months now. Works surprisingly well. I have an 80 year old home and the frames have no problem supporting it, though I'm not huge (5'10, 165).

Like I said, it has no problem staying in the frame, leaves no marks or damage. My only complaints are that the foam/rubber padding ripped a bit on one side and when you use it for push-ups it slides while on the floor."

Handy Exerciser

"I just brought this home and have played with it a bit. It seems to fit in a doorframe (provided you have room on either side of the door) well, but I am a bit nervous that it will give way as I'm using it. I think I'll keep my feet close to the ground as I get used to it.
Otherwise, it doesn't appear as though it will damage the door frame - this was my concern as I purchased it. The only other option is to buy the traditional pull-up bar, which gets screwed into the frame, so I suppose this is a better option.
Don't forget to grease the bars before you put the grips on - they will not budge without the extra lubrication."

"I love this thing but it has some issues:

It could still damage your door frame if it doesnt fit perfectly. Even then the bars where the pressure falls can damage if the door frame isn't strong enough (like in older houses).

Mount properly before commencing..."

A great buy.

"I bought this last week, and am definitely impressed. I was hesitant to buy because I'm 6 foot and 210lbs but to my surprise just tossing this up on my doorframe holds me no problem at all. My trim on my door is only held in by tack nails, you don't need to reinforce anything. Actual width of the pullup bar is 40", so you need at least that much for clearance on the sides of the door that you plan on using it with. I have a few doors in my house that are close to the wall on one side and it wont fit. Other than that it really makes pushups more effective when you use it on the floor, using the outside handles you really feel it in your chest. It's great for doing dips too."

Excellent chin-up bar

"I bought this bar today, I am 16, and it took me about 5 minutes to put it together. Do not forget to put a soap on the foam grips so it's easier to slide them on when assembling.

I had originaly thought that this bar could go on any door, but it requires a door with a frame that it can hook on to, (It hooks onto the finish of the door), which means the finish around your door must be able to support your body weight, that's the only downside to this product, which isn't really that much of a downside.

This product is portable, it is so easy to move around! It makes push-ups way easier than if you were to go bare-hands on the floor. Same with sit-ups.

This device, if used properly can probably give you more results considering the price you pay, than a bowflex!

The little panflet that comes with it shows you over 12 exercises you can do with this.

Overall, a great purchase that I will not regret! I would highly recommend this product to anyone that doesn't want a permanent chin-up bar installed, or to those who want an easier way to do puch-ups and sit-ups."

"I haven't really seen other reviews for this product, aside from the negative one on this site. I think this is actually one of the best investments I've ever made. I weigh about 185 and i'm 6 ft tall... i just hang it on the top of my door (no screws nothing) and do a couple sets. the bar doesn't move at all and is completely supportive of my weight. I don't think if i weighed 50 pounds more it would even matter. Unless you're doing your chin ups and pull ups wrong, then there should be no reason why it should move. My house is about 45 years old so I mean every room is able to support it. Keep in mind if you're trying to swing on it back and forth, you may fall and hurt yourself, but this tool definitely does the job. I've drastically increased my strength within weeks of using it. Five stars!"

"A big thing about the reason I went with this bar is that it appeared as though you could use it without attaching it to the wall or door frame. While the bar itself it removeable, you need to screw brackets into the 2x4s above the door frame, this might be rather difficult in older homes, as they were not constructed the same as new houses.

Its not advisable to use this bar without the brackets, as a serious injury could result such as spinal or neck, or even broken ribs. If you cannot setup this bar using the 2x4 brackets, I'd suggest going with a different type - perhaps a inside the door frame type that you know you will at least be drilling into the door jamb."
