This is the WORST product for wood EVER

"I love, love MinWax products, but I absolutely HATED this product! Definitely for those that don't care what their finished wood product looks like. If you want a quick fix one coat and have never worked on wood finishing before, I am sure it would be fine. But that is the easy way out, if you want a quick fix, this product is for you. If you want a high quality finish, DON'T BOTHER!"

"Just replaced oak railing. Was skeptical about the "1 step" system. Purchased anyway. After 2 coats, of Classic oak, All i can say is WOW!. Nice coverage, save time."

"I used this stain to paint a few furnitures. It's easy to apply, the color finish is good and it's relatively easy to get a consistent color over the surface painted. I really don't have any complain so far."

"I bought this product to stain an entertainment unit that had already been stained in a Honey color. I used Bombay Mahogany and after 4 coats (I wanted it quite dark) I am extremely pleased with the outcome."

"This is a great product. You save time and money as when you apply the colour, you are also applying the varathane coating. I used this in the mahogany shade. It is lovely. I would buy it again."

Should I use oil base or water base stain on wood veneer of a newly resurfaced cabinet?

Answer:

Either product can be used for Veneer, it is really up to personal preference and/or colour choice. It is recommended that if you go with WaterBased to use a WB Wood Conditoner, and to stay consistent with products (use both a Stain and Protective coating).
