"I bought this mower yesterday, took it out of the box, did some minor setting up, "added the oil" filled the gas pulled the rope and cut my yard. Love this mower,flawless"

A TRUE WORK HORSE

"i bought this mower in march 2008 as it was on sale at the time,great deal, not to heavy not to light just right for its size in wieght. The only problem i have with it is the discharge opening is to small for the size of the mower other than that its a true work horse. i been using this mower from june 1st 2008 to present except winter and fall and i can cut probily about 4 time the size of the lawn i got at my house and still have gas left in the tank. i was asked by a person to cut their lawn because the person that cuts his lawn was gone on vaction and i said okay and the grass was almost 30 inches in place's in height and this mower cut through it like it was nothing."

Had to take this one back

"I bought mine 2 weeks ago. Am taking it back today. The first time I used it, I was very pleased. However, the second time was a disaster. After about 10 minutes of running, I noticed the engine speed was fluctuating. Then, it just stalled. Kept restarting it, but after a couple of minutes it would stall out again. I checked all fluids, filter, choke and throttle... all were fine. Couldn't even finish cutting the grass. I am going with a brand name this time."

"First time using it, the blade seized, made a high pitch squealing sound and then shut down. Oil was topped up and was going to fix it but IT'S BRAND NEW. So I had to return it."

A great buy for the money!

"I love this lawn mower, it starts without a problem every time. The back flap got caught in the blades thou when I was pulling it backwards instead of pushing it forwards. Other than that it was well worth the money!"

"I bought this product because of the "2 pull start guarantee" I have never needed to pull a third time to have this lawn mower start. It really is an EASY START mower and simple to use. I love it!! I don't think you can find a better mower for under $200.00 ."

Starting this lawnmower

Question:

I bought one of these a couple of months ago and have used it four times. It is extremely difficult to start. Am I missing something here? I do not see a choke or a primer pump--just the bar on the handle.

Answer:

Depending on the version you received there may be a yellow choke knob located about halfway up the left side of the handle. Pull that out to start then slowly push back in as the engine comes up to speed. If no choke knob, you have an 'autochoke' model. Use fresh, stabilized unleaded gas. Start with the mower on level ground (sidewalk, driveway), pull the recoil rope out just a little until you feel it engage the starter. Take two steps pushing the mower forward, then pull back the recoil as the weight of the mower moves forward - this method is effective for starting all types of gas lawnmowers.

There is an original equipment grass catcher available for this side discharge model. Contact your local Canadian Tire Store or MTD Products Limited in Kitchener Ontario and request kit OEM-110

maintenance problem

Question:

. someone told me I should get new engine oil,gas oil and new spark plug. I changed all that. Once I stared the engine this machine make a lot of smoke and stops after 10 seconds..
Anyone can help me what's wrong..?

Answer:

Gas oil? You shouldn't put oil in the gas with a 4 stroke engine. A little wouldn't hurt but if you put too much, my guess is that's what the problem is. Drain the gas, full it up again without the oil and try that.
